Mount Alvernia High School Launches $20 Million Legacy Project to Celebrate Centennial Year
As part of its momentous centennial celebration, Mount Alvernia High School has announced the launch of a landmark Legacy Project aimed at preserving its heritage and preparing the institution for future generations. This ambitious initiative includes the refurbishment of the school’s auditorium for $15 million JMD and the purchase of a standby generator at a cost of $5 million JMD, totaling a $20 million investment in the school’s infrastructure.
The Legacy Project is not only a tribute to the school’s 100-year legacy of excellence in education, leadership, and character formation — it is a call to action for all alumnae, supporters, and friends of Mount Alvernia around the globe.
This project is about honoring our past while empowering our future. The auditorium is the heartbeat of student life — the place where we gather, perform, celebrate, and inspire. The generator is a practical investment that ensures learning and events can continue uninterrupted, even during power outages.”
Mount Alvernia’s auditorium has served generations of students as a space for school assemblies, graduations, cultural events, and cherished memories. The refurbishment will modernize the space and provide a more comfortable, functional environment for students, staff, and visitors alike.
The addition of a standby generator will ensure that essential operations and events can continue regardless of weather or electrical disruptions — a critical upgrade in today’s learning environment.
This centennial Legacy Project reflects the school’s continued commitment to excellence and resilience, while celebrating the rich history that has shaped generations of Alvernians.
All past students, corporate sponsors, and well-wishers are invited to support this initiative through donations, fundraising efforts, and by spreading the word.
